Kennels We have shor-line heavy duty stainless steel kennels. These have fully rounded inner corners which are free of cracks, crevices or pockets where dirt and bacteria can accumulate. This not only makes the kennels easier to clean but also helps assure proper disinfection. We use 'vetbeds' in all our kennels with newspaper beneath. This type of bedding allows urine to soak through, the newspaper absorbing it, and your pet remains comfortable and dry. We have the same type of kennels and bedding in our isolation facilities. These are for pets with contagious diseases as they need to be kept separate. Operations We use a range of anaesthetic agents choosing that which is most suitable to your pet and the operation being performed. Routinely we use propofol ( a short acting intravenous agent) for induction and isoflurane (a potent non-irritant inhalant anaesthetic ) for maintenance. This ensures safer operations, fewer side effects and a smooth rapid recovery from anaesthesia. This enables your pet to go home sooner , looking bright and alert , which means that they are easier to manage at home. Radiography To ensure we take good quality diagnostic radiographs all fit patients are either anaethetised or heavily sedated. The table is lead lined and any staff in the room whilst an X-ray is being taken must wear a lead gown. Clients are not permitted to be in the controlled area when X-rays are being taken and red warning lights will be clearly visible. Laboratory We have a vettest biochemical analyser, haematology analyser, centrifuge, microscope and refractometer. This enables us to perform pre-anaesthetic blood profiles, basic general health profiles, monitor diabetics and thyroid levels to mention a few. However more specialised or detailed investigations are performed by an outside Lab. We believe they provide excellent results, offer a vast range of diagnostic services and give value for money.
