These are either during open Surgery or by appointment We try to arrange pre and post operation checks out of the open Surgery times if possible. Also we like to arrange a specific time when the Surgery is quiet if it is time to say 'goodbye' to a much-loved pet.

We like to admit patients before morning consultations. This gives us time to perform the necessary health checks + / - blood screens and get them settled before we are busy with those consultations. We encourage owners to come through into the hospitalisation area to help settle their pets in. Operations are usually performed late morning through to early afternoon in our adjacent theatre. We ask owners to telephone between 2 - 3 pm to arrange when their pet will be discharged. This is generally between 4 - 5 pm.

If it is necessary to hospitalise a sick pet for several days we encourage the owners to visit daily and spend as much time as possible with their pet. This is generally in the afternoon and/or early evening.

We perform 'in house' pre-anaesthetic blood profiles and basic general health profiles. We can use our equipment to monitor your pet's response to treatment for various conditions including most commonly : blood sugar levels in pets suffering from Diabetes Mellitus and thyroid levels in hyperthyroid cats or hypothyroid dogs.

We stock a range of life stage diets for both cats and dogs. We also supply Waltham and Hills prescription diets for pets requiring specific feeds tailor made to treat their specific problems.

We are an approved Training Practice(TP). This means that we have been approved by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons to train student nurses to become qualified Veterinary Nurses. The training involves an intensive 2year period consisting of practical training, whilst working, and day release for College.
