Anne Killick  B.Vet.Med.M.R.C.V.S.

I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College , London in April 1982 . I initially worked in a mixed but predominantly small animal equine practice in Stoke on Trent.

In October 1985 I moved to join Margaret Wharmby's practice at Park Hall Stables , Mansfield Woodhouse . Here I worked with both small animals & horses .I remained here until I decided to set up my own practice at Meadowbank which I opened in January 1994 .

My clinical interests are in small animal medicine including rabbits . I come from a dairy farming background & have always had a keen interest in horses . It is only since starting my own practice that I have not had enough time to have a horse of my own.

Nowadays I have taken to riding a mountain bike (this takes less looking after than a horse) & tend to combine this sport with traveling to exciting new destinations every year.

(Regular Replacement Locum)

I graduated from The Royal Dick Veterinary School in Edinburgh in 1981. Initially I worked in mixed practice in Lincolnshire for 5 years before moving to Nottinghamshire. Since this time I have mainly worked in small animal and equine practices including an orthopaedic referral practice (Ark Veterinary Clinic) and a dermatology referral practice (Companion Veterinary Clinic at Newark). This year I am the British Veterinary Association local chairperson for the East Midlands region.

I am married with 2 children and mostly work part time. I have always had a keen interest in horses and have competed at the Horse of the Year Show in the Pony Club mounted games, evented to an Advanced level and am currently a list 5 Dressage Judge.

Tracy Henderson RVN

I have been working in the veterinary industry since 1999 and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2003. My experience ranges from small to large animals as well as some more exotic species - from working in the hospital at London Zoo. Here I was responsible for monitoring anaesthetics on gorillas, lions, penguins etc.

I have recently returned to the UK after five and a half years of working abroad as a Veterinary Nurse and Scuba Diving Instructor in Bermuda, Honduras, Egypt, South Africa, Thailand, Costa Rica and Mexico. I speak Spanish and basic Egyptian Arabic and am passionate about diving and animals!

Sarah Scott - Student Veterinary Nurse

I had been a human nurse for 20 years when, in March 2008, I was made redundant. This has given me the opportunity to move into animal nursing which is something I have wanted to do for a long time. I am hoping to enrol this summer (2009) and start my actual training as a veterinary nurse this autumn.

I am married and we have a set of twins. The other baby in my life is Cassie my border collie dog.

Jenny Rimmer - Veterinary Nursing Assistant

I have recently left school and have always wanted to work with animals, right from being a small child. When the opportunity to work at Meadowbank Veterinary Surgery arose I was overjoyed and jumped at the chance. I am hoping to enrol at College next summer (2010) so I will have to work hard to fit my studies around our family horse and the two goldfish.

Amanda Stirland- Accounts Manager & Assistant Veterinary Nurse

I have recently joined the team, at Meadowbank Vets and have dual roles,  one being Accounts Manager where my main responsibilities are the day to day accounts and book keeping of the practice.  I have over nine years experience within this field, having worked for a variety other companies including a marketing company and a plastics manufacturer.

Animals have always been a love of mine and to be working within a Veterinary practice as an Assistant Veterinary Nurse is a dream come true.  I am also a freelance horse riding instructor, having attained my BHS stages 1 and 2 and PTT and an NVQ Level Two in Horse Care and Knowledge.

I have a young son and one horse, one dog, one cat and two goldfish which as you can guess all keep me quite busy.

Assistant Principal - Bilii

Billii - is how my name is pronounced. It is Urdu in origin and means "cat" - really I should be called "Billa" because I am a boy but I have got used to my name now.

I have worked for Meadowbank Vets since I was a kitten. I spend my time supervising the staff at work. I use my own initiative when re- organising displays or neatly folded paperwork on the desk. My computer skills are excellent - although I am unsure where the words from the screen saver go to when they move off the side of the screen? In my spare time I carry out handy work duties such as fixing leaky taps.
